A obra resgata a biografia de Edu Macedo, gaúcho de estampa singular, misto de brasileiro e oriental que se criou na Serrilhada (Bagé/RS), fronteira com o Uruguai. Nesse lugar, foi líder comunitário e desempenhou várias atividades campeiras que hoje estão extintas, entre elas: carreteiro, tropeiro, contrabandista, quilero e matreiro. Além disso, foi instrutor de correaria e sapataria na extinta escola “Cidade dos Meninos”.
O texto está divido na seguinte sequência: biografia, ofícios e atividades, costumes e entretenimentos campeiros, cenários da lida, indumentária, aperos e cutelos, medicina campeira, previsão do tempo e astronomia campeira, fenômenos e mistérios e diversas curiosidades.
O lançamento é dia 29 de novembro, a partir das 17h, junto com outras nove obras de pesquisadores que participam do 15º Salão Internacional de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão (SIEPE) da Unipampa. O evento que acontece entre 28 e 30 de novembro, em Caçapava do Sul.
